In
Australia there
is a recent law that says that nobody besides
the Immigration Department itself or a registered
Immigration Agent can charge
money to provide services for someone who wishes
to migrate to Australia. This law was very
welcome because before it, unscrupulous people
abused the good fait of prospective immigrants
with promises never to become true, and got lots
and lots of money from them. Now with the law,
Immigration Agents must do a course and abide by
a code of Ethics, which is a guarantee and
tranquillity for future migrants.
Since July 2003, students wishing to apply
for General Skilled Migration, must have to
complete 2 years of study in Australia before
being eligible for an application. Note also
that each carrier or profession receives
different amount of points according to the list
the Immigration Department has called "Skilled
Occupation List".
Study
and live in cities localized
in areas Regional Australia give more points for an
Immigration. Regional Australia is considered all the cities
of Australia except Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast,
Newcastle, Wollongong, New South Wales Central Coast, Perth
and Canberra.
There
are other categories of Immigration as for example, the Business Category for people
who want to invest in Australia, by purchasing a Business or
opening a new one. In this case, the government stipulates a
minimum amount of investment and the business must not only
provide the owner living, but must also be able to employ a
certain number of Australians. This also varies from city to
city.
Only 2 years after the immigration (with the person(s)
living in Australia) is that the Immigration Department
concedes the right for applicant to apply for Australia
Citizenship. With the Citizenship, the migrant is granted with
the plain use of all social benefits

total cost of Immigration to Australia can surpass $
5.000, not including medical exams, translations and
certification of documents, English tests, and others.
Usually the entire process takes about one year to be
completed, but it all depends on how busy the officers
