New Zealand is considered cheap by some and expensive by
other people. It all depends of where you are coming from and how strong your currency is against the NZ dollar. It will also depend on the type of trip you are planning to have with how many people. The minimum necessary to be reasonably comfortable is around
NZ$1600 per month. Families with children will need
over NZ$2500 per month. For students NZ$1000 per month only
for the ones with a very low budget. For those who are only going for tourism, you should set a side around
NZ$ 60 to 100 per day, for accommodation such as a backpackers,
food and one attraction. For the tourist with a little more money you will probably be spending around NZ$
150 plus per day. It all depends on you and how much you want to spend as well as the time of the year.
GST is a tax for all goods and services in NZ , and has
increased for 15% in 2010, so many prices were affected
