Auckland

Tourist Attractions in Auckland - Auckland offers the tourist a lot of things to do and is pretty much only limited by the weather, how much time you have, and how much you can spend. Without taking into account the hundreds of restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs etc. The main attractions are: 

 Attractions  Description
Sky Tower & Casino Situated right in the center of the city, the tower allows for a 360° panoramic view of Auckland. It also includes a Casino and many restaurants.
Sky Tower Sky Jump Similar to a Bungy Jump, it made from the top of the tower, only you go down feet first instead of headfirst. 192 metres.
Waterfront The waterfront is where most boat trip leave from Auckland, it has very pleasant Cafes, as well as an interesting Naval Museum.
Tamaki Drive The avenue that runs along the water front, with beautiful views of Auckland bay, runs through the up market suburbs of St Helens and Mission Bay
Kelly Tarltons Underwater world & Antartic Encounter Located on Tamaki Drive. Aquariums where you can see sharks, stingrays, and other marine fishes. There is also an area with Antarctic animals such as penguins..
Auckland Museum

 (The Domain)

Expositions of Rare Maori artifacts, and collections from the other Pacific Islands. You will also find things about the history of NZ, the Wars, animals, children’s activities. Close to the centre. You should also check beside the Museum for the free beautiful winter garden with plants and flowers from all over the world.
Parnell Vilage In the Suburb of Parnell. Sophisticated shops, Victoria style Architecture, offers fashion and up market shopping, as well as great restaurants and Cafes.
Rainbow's End The only Theme Park in NZ.  Located in Manuakau.
Devonport On the other side of the bay, catching a boat from the waterfront. Historic Village, and interesting shops.
Rangitoto Island A volcanic Island in Auckland bay, it has great trails, and spectacular views of the city. Boasts leave from the Waterfront.
Waiheke Island Another beautiful island. Great for a day trip and a picnic. Offers excellent Cafes and nice beaches. Boats leave from the Waterfront.
Great Barrier Island The furthest island from Auckland (80km). Perfect fro spending the day. Great diving, surf, Cafes. Boats leave from the Waterfront.
Fuller Ferries Boats that make the trip to these islands described above.
North Shore Auckland Crossing the Harbour bridge, the north of Auckland offers beautiful beaches and a relaxed environment.
West Auckland The beaches of Piha, Bethells and Karekare are the closest beaches for surfing.
Botanic Gardens In Manurewa. Has on show plants from all over NZ as well as exotic plants from all over the world.
Auckland Zoo Located on Motions Road, Western Springs, reasonably close to the centre. Have animals unique to NZ as well as animals from all over the world..
Pride of Auckland Boat ride in the beautiful bay of Auckland. Includes a visit to the Maritime museum.
One Tree Hill An extinct volcano, and offer great view of the city from the top of the hill. Situated in Cornwall Park.
Museum of Transport & Technology (MOTAT) Have planes, fire trucks, old cars and collections. Located on Great north road.
Auckland Bridge Climb More than 2 hours of climbing and getting down the Auckland harbour bridge.
Auckland Bridge Bungy Bungee Jump from the Auckland Bridge.
Dolphin & Wale Safari See dolphins and whales from this luxurious Catamaran.
Howick Historical Village Historic Village depicting life in Auckland in the 1800’s.
