Napier

The East Coast area of the North Island in New Zealand  has two very nice towns called Napier & Hastings. They both are sea front towns and are very famous for the production of wines. These towns are also famous for the brilliant preserved Art-Deco architecture. Both worth a visit and there are plenty to do as bellow...  

 Atractitions  Description
Art Deco Tours You don't need to walk to far in the streets to see great Art-Deco buildings dating from the late 1800,s. If you want to know details there are guided tours and maps are offered in the Tourist Information (visitor centre) kiosk.
Marineland It is the only marine zoo in New Zealand with seal, sea lions, penguins and much more. Very nice place to visit.
The Sea Horse Farm It was considered as one of the best tours in town.
Opossum World An interesting shop, selling products derived from this mazurpial which became a plague in New Zealand.
Gannets Safaris The Cape Kidnappers, has the biggest Garnet Colony in the world. You got there by 4x4 vehicle and the tour takes about 3 hours.
Spanish Mission 17 Trails Can be done by foot or car passing 17 traails left by the Spanish mission
Hawkes Bay Museum Fascinating exhibition of artefacts and history of Hawkes Bay. From the huge earthquake of 1931 to Dinosaurs, Art-Deco and Maori Arts and crafts. 
Bluff Hill Lookout Can be reached by foot but it is a very steep hill. (better by car). The views are fantastic (almost 360 degrees).
Kiwi Adventure Offer plenty of fun tours such as Kayaking, river rafting, Rock climbing and much more.
Ocean Spa The are nice open air hot pools in a complex right in front of the beach. We tried it and love it. Very relaxing especially at the and of a busy day.
Airplay - Tandem Paragliding Fly above the gorges near Te Mata Peak with very experimented professionals. The views are breath taking. 
Splash Planet The biggest Water Park in New Zealand with toboggan, tubes, floats and much more. It is an all family fun.
Early Am Balloons Fly in a Balloon this region which has plantations, forests, and a deep bue sea. 
Heaoterangi Experiment a fantastic Maori cultural experience with shows, dance, tipical food and history. 
Surf & Dive at Mahia Great Surf and also great diving nearby.
Hawke's Bay Wine Country & Food Trail Visit farms and try their wines and foods. All from the region.
Bay Tours and Charters They do tours taylor made for the subjects of your interest.
Vicky' s Wine Tour VIP tours to wine farms and cheese tasting. 
Bike about Tours They supply all equipment for a bicycle tour passing by wine farms and much more. If you get tired, there are motorized bicycles to come back. 
Heli Air Helicopter flights above this beautiful region. They have packages or can organise tours of your interest.
The Strawberry Patch In a farm of strawberry you can pick up the fruit and try their fantastic Ice Cream as well as other gourmet products.
